With five goals scored and none conceded, FSV Mainz 05 now has the best goal difference in the league. The team currently sits in fifth place in the Bundesliga standings with four points from one win and one draw, just two points behind leaders FC Augsburg.
Bild Sport awarded the rare top rating after the match. A total of three Mainz 05 players received a BILD-Note 1 for their outstanding performances. The newspaper summarized this with the words: "BILD-Note 1 für DIESE Mainz-Stars". The exact names of the awarded players were not specified in the report, but the collective top-level performance was evident. The commanding win provides momentum for the upcoming challenges. The next test awaits on September 12, 2026.
