Mainz 05 set the world record for the largest La-Ola reading formation on Wednesday in the MEWA ARENA. More than 7,500 children read a verse aloud in succession - exactly like a La-Ola at a football game. This world record attempt was successful, with 7,508 students coming together and setting the world record under the guidance of author Stefan Gemmel. Each child received a certificate after completing the reading. Mainz 05's mayor, Nino Haase, and Stefan Hofmann, chairman and managing director of Mainz 05, were present and supported the world record attempt. The Reader Service, SWR1 Rheinland-Pfalz and Mainz 05 have been involved in this world record attempt.
