Mainz 05 is in talks with Ligue 1 side FC Metz over a transfer for right-winger Gauthier Hein. The discussions are advanced, with an initial offer already made. Hein can be used on the flanks as well as in the offensive midfield and would be the tenth French player in the club's history. The negotiations are being positively evaluated by all parties involved and are set to continue soon. Mainz 05 currently sits 10th in the Bundesliga with 40 points, 10 wins, 10 draws, and 14 losses from 34 games, with a recent form of WLWLD. Mainz 05 has scored 44 goals and conceded 53 this season, resulting in a goal difference of -9. The club is 49 points behind leaders Bayern München. The signing of Gauthier Hein could be an important reinforcement for Mainz 05's attack, which has already presented four new signings this season, including Ransford Königsdörffer and talent Alynho Haidara.
