Silas has returned to team training with Mainz 05 following his serious leg injury. The 28-year-old striker took part in a roughly 30-minute session with the squad on Tuesday before continuing with his individual programme.
Injury Details and Progress
Sporting director Christian Heidel confirmed the injury was a "four-part break" of the tibia and fibula. It occurred in March during a Conference League match against Sigma Olomouc. "The attacker is well ahead of schedule," said Heidel.
Reintegration Plan
The club is following a cautious, step-by-step approach to reintegrate Silas to his full strength without taking risks. He will continue his individual programme following the team session. This phase comes at an important time for Mainz 05, who sit eighth in the Bundesliga with seven points from five matches. Their next challenge is an away fixture against 13th-placed FC Schalke 04 on 17 October. The team's current form of three wins from their last five games provides a solid backdrop for the forward's potential later return.
Silas will continue his individual programme as part of the club's gradual reintegration plan.
