Mainz 05 has finalized the coaching teams for the 2026/27 season in their youth academy. Following the conclusion of the 2025/26 season, the planning has already been completed. Due to departures and internal changes, there will be several adjustments in the coaching teams. Familiar and new faces will guide the youth teams of Mainz 05 through the upcoming season. The U23 and U19 teams will remain unchanged in terms of coaching staff. U17 head coach Marc Heidenmann has left Mainz 05 for RB Leipzig. He will be replaced by the current U16 head coach Yannick Dreyer, who will move up to the U17. Niklas Bahr, who previously managed the U19 of Eintracht Braunschweig, will take charge of the U16. U15 head coach Maxi Junk will follow Dreyer as a co-coach in the U17. Lukas Wolsztynski from 1. FC-TSG Königstein will take over the U15. These changes are part of Mainz 05's strategy to promote the development of young talents and enhance the performance of the youth teams.
