The Bundesliga champions have already paid €15 million for the loan and could activate a €65 million buyout clause at the end of the season. However, they are unlikely to proceed with this option.

Chelsea is not looking for another loan deal for the 24-year-old striker and will let him go on a permanent transfer for a fee of around €60 million. AC Milan is confident of matching this figure through player exchanges or bonuses plus a sizeable transfer fee.
